Neurostimulation tratment of Neurostimulation

Treatments Offered- Spinal Cord Stimulation (Neurostimulation)

In our practice, Spinal Cord Stimulator is recommended mainly for persistent or recurrent pain after one or more spinal surgeries, RSD (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)), or certain types of Cancer Pain.

In this procedure, a wire containing electrodes (lead) is placed just outside the spinal cord. When these electrodes are stimulated with a battery, it blocks pain. First a trial procedure is done, in which the wire with electrodes is introduced through a needle and it is connected to an external battery. Patients then try the device for a few days. If they get good pain relief, then all the components are implanted by a small outpatient surgical procedure.

Visit then go to Treating Chronic Back and/or Leg Pain and then Neurostimulation for additional information.
